Nobel CHEESE Prize!!
OK!! I had an extended break from the blog...and in that time Facebook had become my "sounding board" for shit that pissed me off!!! Well, I fretted over whether I should write about this over the last couple days....and I decided...why the hell am I worried about it? It is MY blog right??? As the song says "take me as I am".....so this would be your call to rise if you don't want to hear me bitch about Obama!!!!
Now that I have gotten that out of the way, here it goes! What in the hell warrants that man (Obama) deserving the Nobel Peace Prize???? I just don't get it!!! The Norwegian Nobel Committee said they honored him "more on promise than achievement!" Well hell if that is the case every doctor in the world that is working on a cure for cancer, HIV, and third world country starvation should by all rights get a Nobel Peace Prize......Right? I mean after all they are promising (hoping) the same as Obama is to reach the end goal!! What the heck has this world come too? I want you to look at this article that lists the people that were passed over for the award.....soooooo sad to think that these people have put their blood, sweat and tears into their ACHIEVEMENTS (not the promise of) and they were passed over. These people were out doing what they do AT ground zero so to speak....actually DOING not promising a result!!! If we keep doing this crap.....people are just going to quit trying alltogether.
“The real question Americans are asking is, ‘What has President Obama actually accomplished?’ It is unfortunate that the president’s star power has outshined tireless advocates who have made real achievements working towards peace and human rights. One thing is certain – President Obama won’t be receiving any awards from Americans for job creation, fiscal responsibility, or backing up rhetoric with concrete action.”

I'M BACKKKK!!!
"The more I run, the more certain I am that I am heading for my real goal: to become the person that I am." george sheehan
WOW....Where to start....this has been a GREAT, but excruciatingly busy summer!! We have been here there and everywhere!! Running, biking, football and kiddos have been the order. I Hope that everyone had as wonderful of a summer as we did!!
I think the last post I left off on was in June with the cabin cleaning...I hadn't yet done the Grady Williams Triathlon....it went great, but unfortunately my swimmer was unable to complete the race....so no luck there! The next weekend I did the Pagosa "DO the DU" duathlon 7/11/09(2nd place). It was fun..we rented a cabin up there and made a weekend of it with fishing and cooking out. This was followed by Kendall Mountain Run 7/18/09 (3rd) in Silverton Colorado, Kennebec Pass Run 7/25/09 (2nd) and the day after Kennebec was the Durango 100 mile bike ride 7/26/09 (5 hrs and 37minutes). Jentry turned two on August 1st and we had a great party for her...can't believe she is two!! After all this we took a family vacation to DisneyWorld...it was GREAT and the kids had a blast!!
We got home on the 7th of August and on the 8th my friend Brandy and I went up to Dolores and did the Escalante Days Mountain Bike Race (2nd). The next week was the San Juan County Fair and we had a blast with that of course and then Denton started the First Grade on August 13th. Labor Day weekend I got to go to New York City...what an experience...it was eye opening to say the least!! One of those things where absence make the heart grow fonder!! Denton turned seven on September 17th. We had a party in the park for him and on September 2oth I went up to Pagosa Springs Colorado for the Mountain Chili Cha Cha (2nd).......now I am chilling until Oct 18th and the Moab Other Half marathon, then the Ultimate XC in Moab on Nov 14th......WHEWWW!!! I realize on how CRAZY this race schedule was ...and will not partake in this may events next summer.....mental fatigue was a big hit for me!! It however was the perfect summer with being up in the mountains close to every weekend.
I have crazily and somewhat unknowingly decided to run the Gobi March in China next June with Scott (check out link). I am humbled, scared, and impatient about the experience....this will be the BIG one for me!! Denton is now in flag football and keeping us on the run with practice and games. Jentry...well..what can I say....she is Jentry and OH so sure of her little self!!! I will post a few pictures in a slide show and new links to the side. I am glad to be back to blogging and now will hopefully have the time and energy to keep it up.....
I must mention here that Scott and I did a bike ride up over Kennebec Pass and back into Durango last Saturday....It was completely BANANAS...gorgeous!!! This is my favorite time of year....leaves are falling, football is going and the holidays are just around the corner. It is time to break out the evergreen scented candles, vvarious holiday decorations, winter clothing and conjure up new yummy foods for the holidays!
HAPPY FALL EVERYONE!!
